National Women Build Day a Success!

Women's Build May 2009

A crew of women volunteers raised the walls of a Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity (KVHH) house during National Womens Build Week, May 5-11, at 1015 South Rose Street, Kalamazoo. This was the first Women Build project taken on by KVHH and was part of Habitat’s second annual National Women Build Week, sponsored by Lowe’s. KVHH is one of more than 200 Habitat affiliates across the United States that hosted a Women Build day during the week leading up to Mother’s Day.

“The community’s response was exciting and overwhelming,” said KVHH Board President Sam Lealofi. "We are grateful for the community’s support and plan on another house raising in 2009 and another Women Build in 2010.”

Volunteers are needed for other Habitat projects throughout the summer. To find out more, click the Volunteer tab on this site.
