Partner Affiliate
Hábitat para la Humanidad Nicaragua is our partner affiliate. Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity supports Habitat Nicaragua by tithing unrestricted funds each year. We have sponsored 70+ homes in Nicaragua since 1987 with nearly $200,000 in financial support.
Our tithe relationship with Habitat Nicaragua is part of our covenant with Habitat for Humanity International. This partnership helps us remember that we are part of a global movement. In 2005, a small team of KVHH volunteers traveled to Nicaragua and built homes with partner families. We hope a team of volunteers will travel again to Nicaragua in the next few years to work hand-in-hand with our partner affiliate.
Mission
Habitat for Humanity Nicaragua advocates and works to defend the right to adequate housing and the improvement of communities, inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ and in collaboration with the communities themselves, putting special emphasis on sectors of greatest need.
