184th Habitat for Humanity Family Home Dedicated

A local family dedicated its new Habitat for Humanity home on Sunday, September 16 at 2913 Onondaga Avenue, Kalamazoo. More than 340 volunteers contributed more than 4,325 hours of service to build this home in partnership with the home buyer family.

Partners for this project include PNC Bank, which provided a $10,000 grant to support this green built home, and the City of Kalamazoo which provided HOME funds. This lot was purchased by Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity (KVHH) for $1.00 from the Kalamazoo County Land Bank.

Volunteer groups included KVHH’s Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday crews, KVHH home buyer partners, WMU Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter, Kalamazoo College students, Stryker Instruments, Valley Family Church, Northwestern University MSA, Southridge Reformed Church, Zion Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, Solid Grounds, Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church, Willow Creek Church Student Impact Group, Consumers Energy interns, Lakeside Academy students, Portage Central High School and Mattawan High School National Honor Society, Pfizer, Beta Alpha Psi, and First Presbyterian Church.
