182nd Family Dedicates Home
Habitat's 182nd family dedicated their new home on Sunday, February 5 at 1201 Nichols Road, Kalamazoo. The home was built to KVHH standards by students enrolled in the construction trades program at the Van Buren County Intermediate School District Technology Center in Lawrence. It was moved to Nichols Road in Kalamazoo on June 26, 2011 and set by crane. In addition to VBISD students, Education for Employment Building Trades Program students from Comstock High School built the foundation and shed for the home.
In addition to the students’ contributions, volunteer groups worked on the project including: Habitat's Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday crews and home buyer partners, WMU Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter, Hackett High School National Honor Society, Pfizer, Kalsec, and First Presbyterian Church.
