Women Build Home Dedicated Sunday, February 19
Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity‘s 183rd homeowner family dedicated their new home on Sunday, February 19.
Construction on the home began in May with the third annual Kalamazoo Women Build project. Lowe’s, the national partner in the Habitat for Humanity Women Build project, supported this build with volunteers and a Women Build grant.
Over 250 volunteers helped to build the home with over 2500 hours spent on its construction. Along with the KVHH Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday building crews and partner families volunteers include groups from: KVCC Honor Students, Defender Direct, Portage Central High School National Honor Society, Stryker, Jeter’s Leaders, Eaton Corporation, Mary Kay, Kalamazoo Community Foundation, Kalamazoo College students, Rotaract, ChemLink Products, Jack and Jill Organization, AmeriCorps, and Peace Jam.
